ESCAPE ROBOT: WALKING 8-LEGGED ROBOT

Creatures, Fine Arts Thesis. Cornell University, 2001.

Escape Robot is an 8-legged, 150 lb. robot that slowly walks backward across the floor. Large 12v AC automotive car window motors drive each level. This steel robot was first welded as a central frame, with each leg designed as a piston. Slowly, the robot drags its control board across the floor with it. “Escape Robot” is both its name, and a warning, to would be robots attempting to escape the gradual decay of obsolete technology.
